Re:Quest and Re:Start
Brilliant free resources to help schools teach Christianity
Both websites are very easy to search by topic and both have films, activities, stories and information to aid the teaching of Religious Education. There is also a special RE Teacher section where you can sign up for information and mailings, use the toolkit and find out more to help facilitate your teaching of RE.
Secondary Students
Re:Quest allows the teacher to explore different aspects of the Christian faith from Christian festivals, the Bible and it’s teachings, Jesus Christ to how faith is expressed today and resources to explore moral issues from a Christian faith perspective.
Primary Students
Re:Start is a resource for primary school teachers to help teach Christianity in a way that connects with those in Key Stage 1 and 2. As with Re:Quest, Re:Start offers information and resources on all areas of the Christian faith.
myLife Courses
myLife is a suite of 12 award winning life skills courses that can support anyone working one to one or with smaller groups of up to 8.
Each course can last up to 30 hours and will help the learner to develop 8 positive character traits as well as to learn essential life skills.
my Life was designed to build character and life skills. This multi-accredited resource is a direct response to the alarming 70% re-offending rates amongst young people. It was developed to support the 136,000 young people who are excluded from mainstream education, as well as to tackle the growing problem of NEET young people (Not in Education Employment or Training), with figures of one million i.e. 1 in 6 young people.
